Shropshire Lass II was purpose-built as a narrowboat with access throughout for wheelchair users, and has been carrying happy holidaymakers along the beautiful Llangollen canal as a hire boat for many years. Able to accommodate up to 8 passengers, she was blacked in 2023, serviced in 2024, has central heating radiators in each cabin and is now available to purchase.
A large cruiser stern is fitted with not only the usual 'Swan's Neck' tiller arm, but also a steering wheel to provide opportunities for all to take a hand at skippering the boat. A lift is available to take a wheelchair down from the raised stern into the interior, where large doorways and ease of access feature throughout.
Passing through the boat from stern to bow, the first cabin is a bedroom with 2 single bunk beds. This is followed by the main bathroom which has been designed as a 'wet room' with a fold-down seat available in the shower area.
There are 4 further single bunk beds with wardrobe space to the side and a second toilet between them and the galley.
The galley is laid out to either side of the boat and is equipped with sink and drainer, freestanding oven, under-counter fridge, ample work surfaces and storage, and a side hatch for extra ventilation when cooking,
Moving forward to the saloon, there are especially large windows to facilitate easy viewing for all, and a seating area which functions as a dinette in the day but can be converted to a double bed at night.
The whole interior has wheelchair-friendly flooring; prospective purchasers should be informed that it may need some attention due to wear and tear.
Double doors lead out onto the bow deck.
